Confused about Qualification

Hi jcallori, Yes I'm a British subject on my dads side, but not recognized as Italian on my mums side. If this EC is as great as they make out, there should be no problem in my getting equality with my cousins on my uncles side. Why shouldn't I leave my Sons and Grandson their descendent legacy if t...

Confused about Qualification

Hi Someday, Could you please tell me who and where the legislature was from Italy, America? I have had a letter back from the Italian Embassy telling me what I already know, but asking me for information i.e. birth certificates etc, perhaps a stalling action. I am waiting the for the Home Office to ...

Confused about Qualification

Thanks for the information everyone. Hopefully I will have a letter from the Manchester Embassy following a reminder I sent them. As soon as I receive the reply, I will tell you what they say.

Confused about Qualification

Thanks MFK and TIFFANY, any other information would be gratefully received. I am not going to let it drop, I am waiting for a reply from the Manchester Embassy, if ever I get a reply. No doubt I will get the same answer, then I will start writing to all and sundry with a vengeance  Best wis...

Even More Confused Now

Thanks EM for the comments. I don't know I should be disadvantaged. I am equally my grandfathers grandson as my cousins. I think this needs some campaigning to get equal rights. :( Perhaps the European Court of Human Rights.

Best wishes George

Even More Confused Now

I found this posting on the forum, it seems to suggest that I can make application through my Great Grandfather. As witnessed by conversation with consulates the proof of marriage is vital as women (your mother) cannot pass citizenship if they are born before 1948 or you can not inherit citizenship...

Confused about Qualification

Hi, Thank you all for the comments. Yes I do live in the UK. No one seems to have addressed this 1948 rule, I wonder in this world of equality, when I am going to receive the same rights as my cousins. I don’t know when the 1948 rule came in, I have looked on the internet to see if there is some exp...

Confused about Qualification

My Grandfather was born in Italy in 1863, and all my great grandparents were born in Italy going back at least 5 Generations. My Grandparents had two children my uncle Antonio born 1910 and my mother born 1913. My grandparents didn't marry until 1921, perhaps because one of their partners was still ...
