Certificate of Citizenship & Passport Fees

Two quick questions for anyone who has experience: 1) A passport has an annual tax of $58.75; asside from my first year which was paid with the application, how will they charge me for this? Am I expected to remember and send it in or will they send me a bill? 2) I was recognized through my father/g...

Success in Philly!

I first started looking into the process around this time of year in 2005, so all in all it's taken me 3 years, but today I finally got my passport in the mail! I'm totally stoked, especially since I never received my letter like I was supposed to; I had been waiting for about 8 months after submitt...

That's what I'm thinking, though I still haven't heard a word from the consulate and they haven't responded to my emails. I'm wondering if it would be quicker for me to request proof of citizenship directly from my comune.

Received _Something?_ from Italy

I had all my documents accepted at the Philadelphia consulate last year about this time, but have yet to hear anything back from them. Yesterday I got a postcard in the mail from my comune (the one my docs were sent to) in Italy, but since I don't read Italian maybe someone here could tell me what i...

Had a Similar Situation? (Mail in docs to Philadelphia)

I'm just curious if anyone's experienced a similar situation and how it turned out. My sister and I applied back in May and our docs were accepted by Sergio at the Philadelphia consulate. Trouble was my sister didn't have a US passport at the time and Sergio told us that a photocopy of our passports...

A lot of consulate sites make reference only to claiming citizenship through the previous 2 generations, likley because it's the most common. I'd be surprised if you found a consulate claiming that you can't go further back than 2 (if so, post a link) and if thats the case, you should be able to arg...

I beleive they require all of the documents, since not only will you be recognized as a citizen but anyone you are claiming citizenship through will recognized as well... they'll need their documentation

Lena, you do not need 'two' sets of documents for you and your sister. I asked this same question with the consular official in Chicago, and he advised me to apply first, get recognized, and then my brother, who lives in another jurisdiction, can apply, using the same documents. I would say the sam...

Awsome Em! I got mine the other day, I'm so happy.
Now we just have to wait till the consulates start taking cases again... (unless yours already is in which case you're lucky, but I heard they stopped due to all of the election stuff)

I had my grandfather`s death record amended, and I had to have his Italian birth record translated into English. I did not need an apostille, except for the "amended record". The translation into English is required by NYC Vital Records, before they will amend the record. I cannot tell ab...

Apostille required on Italian documents for US amendments?

In order to amend my great grandfathers death certificate I was instructed to send in a copy of his birth certificate; they said a photocopy would do fine but I'm not sure if they realized it was an Italian record and not a US record. Does anyone know if I'm going to need an apostille on my italian ...

I found some information here: ****://www.apostilleinfo.com/france.htm:2dsw7evq]http://www.apostilleinfo.com/france.htm This seems to be the same statement that is on every page I've googled on the subject. Re: Obtaining apostilles from France

My great grandmother and great grandfather (both Italian -- from Abruzzo) were actually married in France (Bouches-du-Rhone). Fortunately, I have their marriage certificate -- but I need to get an apostille from France. Does anyone know how to do that? Any online resources listing postal addresses,...
