Re: Success in SF

I know what you mean jamato! I got weak in the knees when I saw the corner of the envelope peaking out with "Cons" in the corner. I couldn't believe it. You will be very soon I am sure. By the way, I applied December 2007, got my letter August 28, 2009.

About 15 months earlier than I was supposed to get it due to the WONDERFUL changes made by Signor Marcelli and the hard work of Anna Maria. WOOHOO!!!!!!!!...

Re: Success in SF

Yes, Marcia, can't wait to hear your posting. I believe eatncake posted on the other message board about his application so I know they are up to him. He hasn't received his letter yet, but you can read about it on the other board. After you, it is me! We are getting close. Be sure to post your lett...

Re: translations!

The translations don't have to be apostilled, it is the legal document that is getting apostilled. I sent my documents for apostilles at the same time I e-mailed copies of the documents to the translator. Gabriella is a professional translator and sent a certificate of translation with her translati...

I know how you feel! I have a friend with an appointment in September 2010 and she will probably get recognized before me.

Re: Major Document Changes

I was missing my great grandparents marriage certificate (but had sacramental church record). I went ahead and apostilled the "no record" letters from the various cities I thought they would have been married in and also had them translated. Probably overkill, but Anna Maria really appreci...

Re: SF Translations

No, they don't require you use someone from their list, but they are people they are familiar with and approve of their work. You could translate them yourself, but if there are errors, you will have to have them redone. Gabriella Einaga is great and not as expensive as some. I thought she was quite...

Re: Success in Los Angeles

Congratulations! At least it went back to the consulate so they could inform you by phone instead of being lost without anyone's knowledge!! Enjoy your new dual citizenship! So, did you make a list of your ancestry for the consulate or did you take copies of all the docs your dad turned in to Philad...

Re: NYC Consulate Denial

Yes, I'm also sorry to hear about this. Don't give up yet, though. Can these things be fixed going through your mother's side of the family? Best of luck with this. Keep us posted.

Re: appointment this morning - SF

I know the consulates are busy but it has always seemed to me that once a month posting on the website where they are at with the applications would be very helpful and perhaps cut down on e-mails and phone calls to them. It seems that a clerk or someone not from the citizenship department could fin...
