Re: Oh no!!!!!!!!!!

I guess if I get sick or something I will let you know and we can switch appointments. It's interesting that they need so much time to have you read 1 line, and that you would have to make a phone call to IRELAND to do that! Thank you for letting me know what it is, I am going to practice before I ...

OKAY... that was too easy too be true... I just called 1212-439-8602 they picked up the phone immediately, and the guy gave me an appointment for the 20th (a Tuesday), at 12. He was very nice. He also said that there is a fee for $40, which you can pay by cash or credit card, and that you have to r...

Hi. Good question!!! And thank you for telling me. They gave me a phone number to call between 9 and 11, to make the appointment. I've been trying since Monday but no one picks up. Today I called the 1-900 number, they said they can't help me. I called the general questions number and someone picke...

Re: ctebaldi UPDATE

I just got a letter saying that I am now an Italian Citizen :D:D:D:D . It took exactly a year and a half since the appointment.  My wife got her letter on April 21st (10 months after application). How are you handling the oath/Giuramento at the Consolato? I think/hope our appointment is ...

Follow-up

Thanks for the assistance everyone. My wife received a Counsolato letter dated 4/21/08 stating that her application for Italian Citizenship (Jure Matrimonio) was granted BUT to call ASAP and make an appointment for the Oath / Giuramento @ 212/439-8656 between 9,00 and 13,00 hours. No mention of a pa...

URL for NYC Consulate Website?

The telephone recording when I call the NYC Consulate for an appointment says to visit "www.italconsulnyc.org" but they don't spell it out!!

This URL redirects to a travel website "http://www.bookinghome.com".

Anyone know what the correct URL is :?:

We applied in June of this year.

Supposidly they have up to 2-years time to grant a spouse citizenship based on marriage to an Italian. We shall see!

They asked my wife nothing, zip, zilch, nada other than to please sign here.

We were done in approx. one & 1/2 hours. It takes time to go through the documents and pay for the bollo on all of them.

Citizenship Via Marriage

My wife just finished the application (July 2nd 2007) process for citizenship via marriage to me. I'm told that it can take up to 2-years for it to be approved and the application process is very similar to that for Jure Sanguinis except for the Letters of Good Conduct from the respective police dep...

Italian Citizenship via Marriage

Had our interview at the NYC consulate this past Friday for “Italian Citizenship via Marriage”. Everything went well except for a minor glitch and one “show stopper”. · They wanted the actual “FBI Fingerprint Card” translated into Italian and not just the “No Arrest Record” found result. They were k...

Accepting the application and being granted Citizenship are two different things.

I strongly suspect you have to wait for the letter.

Early Christmas Present: Is this the "first letter"

Hi All: Received this yesterday :D (papers submitted in March '06). I have a few questions for the group as calling the Consolato is futile. 1. Is this the first communique/letter everyone talks about? 2. It mentions having sent my birth certificate to the local comune in Italy but nothing about sen...

NYC consulate on St. Patrick’s Day

Dropped off my documents at the NYC consulate this past Friday (St. Patrick’s Day). A very anticlimactic experience. I waited longer on line to get in to the consulate than the actual time spent with the document inspector. All my papers were in order. Turned out they retained the photocopies of sev...
