Which comune were your documents being sent to? I wonder if it depends whether it is a smaller area than say Rome or Naples.. Isca Sullo Ionio, Calabria. Very small, which is why I am surprised it has taken as long as it has. When I requested a birth certificate, I had it in my hands exactly one mo...

Approved by consulate, waiting for commune

It's coming up on one year since I was approved by the Philadelphia consulate, and I have not heard anything from the Italian Commune where my documents were forwarded. I know that this is not unusual, and that it can take several years before you hear anything. However, I have also read accounts of...

I can only speak for the consulate I applied through, Philadelphia. In Philly you can make appointments, but you really don't even need them. Essentially you show up in the morning, sign in on a list, and then they call your name when they are ready. It was very easy for me.

Same with me... My documents were accepted by Sergio in February 2007, and I didn't bring my passport with me. As soon as I got home, I mailed in a notarized copy. A couple of weeks later I got the letter that said my documents were accepted and were being forwarded to the Italian Municipality (in m...

My docs went to Isca Sullo Ionio, in Calabria. About as small as you can get.

When I wrote to get my great-grandfather's birth certificate, I received it exactly one month after I sent it....which I thought was pretty good. But nothing regarding my citizenship so far.

Things are pretty much the same since I submitted my documents in February. About 2 weeks after that I got a letter that confirmed the acceptance of my docs, and that they would be sent to the Commune. Sergio said it would be at least 6 months until I heard anything, and true to his word I haven't h...

I have applied successfully through Philly. Still waiting for notification from my Commune, but anyways, to answer some of your questions... As far as I know, Sergio is the only person doing citisenship in Philly. He will look over your documents right there and either accept them or not. To be hone...

OK here you go...I didn't want to post them here at first, in case the Philadelphia consulate changed them I didn't want to provide incorrect documents. But since you really wanted them, here you go. These are the documents the Philadelphia consulate emailed to me about a year ago: http://cptl.org/i...
