Re: Question about mother applying after child recognized

Thanks for the replies. I have copies of all the documents that showed my line to my ggf, so maybe the best thing is to make the appointment, explaining the situation and see what they say. It might just be best to get all the documents relating to her birth and marriage and my birth certified and w...

Re: Question about mother applying after child recognized

I went through my mother's side. It was ggf -> gf -> m -> me. That is why I was hoping it would not be a lot of extra documentation. I am not sure if the consulate in Chicago would take time to answer this kind of question, but I had hoped that she could just show she was my mother and that would be...

Question about mother applying after child recognized

I just got my citizenship recognized in San Francisco. My mother, who, when I applied, had no interest in obtaining her citizenship, now is considering doing it. She lives in Chicago. I was just wondering if anyone has done this and what was needed. Can my mom make an appointment in Chicago, present...

Re: After 5 years... (SF)

My appointment was in July "07, and I did have a problem with my documents that Ms. Stone initially accepted, and then notified me of the problem when she actually went to process the application in July 2009. It wasn't a denial, but it was a discrepancy that had to be corrected. Also, because ...

Re: appointment this morning - SF

I don't always check this board because it sometimes makes me more impatient to wait. I am one of the seemingly lost in limbo back log victims. But I had to say David, that I and seemingly everyone else is very happy for you. I think we all just want to post the same good news, that's all. It does g...

Re: SF Consulate has finished 2006!

Well, I won't panic, yet but I also had some discrepancies with my application. My GGF's first name was Giovanni, but his U.S. death certificate said John. I was told this was not a problem and it was accepted. My GGF's last name at birth and on entering the U.S was Colucci, and all his records said...

Pengiundump - hope you feel better, I just got over the flu myself, must be something going around the bay area. After reading about Roadlawyer's application, I do wonder if the fact that he only went back one generation had anything to do with the speed of the application. I am curious to know if a...
