Re: Any possibility of repealing 1948 women law?

I hadn't heard that there was discussion of repealing the 1948 law. You might want to ask over on: http://italiancitizenship.freeforums.org/index.php where many of the expert members of this board have migrated.

Re: Letter of No Appeals

I can't answer your specific questions. However, a "Notice of No Appeal" is very common and the courthouse where the divorce was filed can provide you wih one. I got one for my husband's divorce prior to his applying for jure matimonis. As to whether or not it's required, why not ask your ...

Re: Pet Info Needed

I wish I could provide you with something official, but I did find a cute video of a man in Bergamo (my comune!) walking with a pet pot-bellied.

Re: Passports arrived today from Miami Consulate

Congratulations! That is so cool. My friends are getting tired of me showing my passport around, but the thrill hasn't worn off for me.

Re: Marriage certificate

If you have married for a second time, the marriage application for your second marriage will show that you are divorced (or that this is your second marriage), and the consulate may want the marriage license & divorce decree from the first marriage to show that the first marriage was legally di...

Re: Question about the A.I.R.E. Form

Just an FYI.
When I was approved as an Italian citizen, the SF consulate registered me in AIRE automatically. They told me I only have to fill out the form or change my civil status (divorce, marry, have or adopt a child).

Re: Response from the Italian Consulate in London

There was a thread recently from a US citizen who applied in Australia, and he said that the Australian consulate was sending his documents to the US for verification via Rome.

you might want to double check with London that they expect you, the applicant, to do this step.

Re: Italian Passport Application question

I have two specific questions! Should the questions on the Italian Passport Application be answered in english or italian? Can I use the italian version of my first name on my Italian Passport? I can only answer the second question. The first name on your passport must match the first name on your ...

Re: Naturalization docs for Philly consulate ?

You can't correct a naturalization certificate unless you can prove it was due to a clerical error (for example the name you wrote on the petition is clearly different than the one the clerk typed on the certificate). I would ask the consulate if they will let it slide. Maybe type up an explanatory...

Re: Italian Passport Application question

I was told it had to exactly match my name on my birth certificate. This was in San Francisco.

Your mileage may vary.

Re: Apostille & Corrections

I don't think it's worth the risk of trying to use the old apostille. When I applied in San Francisco, Mrs. Stone checked that the name of the signer of the document was the same as the name certified by the apostille, and I think she checked that the staples on the apostille had not been removed an...

Re: LA consulate, making a appoint for two bucks

Since this thread seems to have drifted a bit from the topic of making an appointment, I'll weigh in. When I applied for citizenship jure sanguinis in SF, no passport was required. When my husband applied for citizenship jure matrimonis in SF, no passport was required. When I applied for my Italian...

I sent one of mine in English and one in Italian (I had to request corrections, hence the 2nd request), just a simple please send the birth certificate of Firstname Lastname, born this date in this place.
