Naturalization & Death Cert Q's for San Fran Consulate

So I'm on the homestretch here, but before the preparation is complete, i've got a couple questions: -First, I have my GGF's original Naturalization certificate but I don't want to part with it for sentimental purposes. Can I use a notarized copy of the original, or must I attain a certified copy fo...

has anyone ever used ICAP for help procuring docs/affidavit?

I was wondering if any body had used the services of the folks at ICAP

http://icapbridging2worlds.com/default.aspx

I had some troubles with ICGS and this appears to be a promising, albeit more expensive alternative, and I would like to know if anyone has any experiences or input. Thanks.

Ok, well I may still try. i appreciate the information, but as certain as you seem to be, I can't rule out the possibility just based on an internet blog site. As for proving conclusively the clerical error, I searched the social security death index for the mispelled name, and no American with the ...

I have a similar situation, although I'm not sure the mispelling (an a instead of an o) in my ggf's case is as much because of human typing error as it is carelessness and disrespect for an immigrant. I plan to take it to the court where it was issued, and bring forward my arguments for why it shoul...

I was able to schedule my appointment by e-mail, but it was a 13 month wait for the appointment! My guess is that they have been spreading out appointments a bit to help themselves play catch-up. It's quite a wait for just an appointment, but I'm hoping in 13 months time that they may be a bit more ...

Sounds like some potentially great news! I think it's important to show the new consul general support for his initiatives, but if he is as good as we hope, he may actually be reading all e-mails sent to him, and we don't want to preoccupy him to much. It's kind of funny because I feel so guilty eve...

Yeah, it was a fun game to watch, although Gli Azzurri are still a ways from the team that won the World Cup. With Cannavaro injured, Pirlo and and Gattuso inelligable, The win vs. Spain will not come easily, but they're heatin up and I think they can do it. Penguindump's got it right though, the Du...

Wow I had no idea! Are you establishing a new residency just for the sake of a new consulate? Are the appointment waits shorter at other consulates? Do the consulates frown upon this or do they not mind?

Scheduling an appointment in San Francisco

I was wondering if there is a long wait list to schedule appointments at the San Francisco consulate, or if you can simply schedule an appointment a month in advance. If there is a 6 or 9 month wait for an appointment, then I will probably try to schedule the appointment before I get my translated d...
