Re: Need Advice on Missing Marriage Document

Just want to thank all of you who encouraged me not to give up finding Marriage Certificate of my GGPs! I searched for over 2 years and one day last week, just by chance, I hit the jackpot! Because I did not have this document (it was the only one that was missing) last year when I went for my appoi...

Re: NY consulate second meeting

Hi Edward, I got a hold of Mr. De Francesco on Wednesday, August 26th, via phone. I called 212-439-8602 (Citizenship phone number) between the hours of 2:30 and 3:30. I called exactly at 2:30 and Mr. De Francesco himself answered. He was actually very helpful and didn't discourage me (nor encourage)...

NY Consulate Denial - Need Lawyer

Maybe you all remember me. Obtained all necessary documentation for citizenship through husband's GGF but was missing Marriage Certificate. I still do not know where they were married. As I wrote to 400 comune in Italy, surrounding their place of birth, without success, I suspect they were married i...

Re: Difficulty finding Marriage Records

Hi! Reading your story gives me hope for finding my GGF marriage certificate! It is the only document I am missing. Problem is that I don't know where my GGM was born and I am told that marriage must have taken place in her commune. Have written to his comune of BARDI and although they sent me GGF b...

Thanks, Tiffany. You made it sound so easy! Not feeling as overwhelmed as before. If I order a copy of the 1920 Census from Ancestry.com and send request after the 13th of August to USCIS which will hopefully return a "No Record Found", am I done with the Naturalization step? Thanks!

Naturalization Record Prior to 1906

Hi! Hoping that someone can help me. Brand new to the seemingly endless quest for gaining Italian Citizenship. Here are the facts. My GGF was born in Italy in 1852 and died in NYC in 1936. Arrived in NYC with GGM in 1893. My GF was born in 1896. The Census of 1910 and 1920 show GGF and GGM were AL u...
