Italian law hasn't changed- it was only a circolare from MInistero dell' Interno:

Re: Referencing A Relative's Citizenship File?

"Assuming that we share the same GGF and GM in the direct line, will Boston require documentation for their spouses, along with their death records? Or will they only require her to document her father/mother and her own birth?"
You'd need to ask Boston consulate.

Re: Houston or NYC?

They should only want your additional docs. However, as it's NY consulate, all bets are off. You must apply and see what happens- there's no predicting what they'll do.

Re: Do I have a shot?

If GF was born prior to 1948, GGM could not pass Italian citizenship to him. :(

Re: Houston or NYC?

"If my sister applies first and receives her citizenship, then how do my father and I proceed with obtaining our citizenship?"

She will have a file number from the Houston consulate. You and father simply reference that and supply any additional docs required by your consulate.

Re: Should I Qualify?

Did your parents naturalize in the US prior to 1992 and prior to your birth? If so you would not have Italian citizenship. However you say father had dual citizenship when he died. Did he regain Italian citizenship? If so, how old were you when he regained it? If under 18 you would have gained citiz...

Re: Certificate of No Appeal?

Yes, the terminology may be throwing them off. In Clark County NV they issued us a Letter of Exemplificiation for the divorce decree, in which the Clerk of Court stated there were no appeals. Each jurisdiction seems to have their own name for it.

Re: Italian citizenship for everyone?

I'd recommend putting some effort into studying Italy's history- probably many good references available at your local library. It's a bit more complicated than "Of course during the dark ages there were plenty invasion."

Re: Italian citizenship for everyone?

Azsumrgirl, tell them there are 100% native Italians here in northern Italy with naturally blonde hair and green eyes. It's an ethnically diverse nation- there have been waves of migration flowing through here for millenia.

Re: Mother's Certificate of Italian Citizenship?

See reply to your other thread- your mother did not lose Italian citizenship if she naturalized after 1992. She should be registered in AIRE at the Italian consulate. She only needs to register your birth in stato civile.
