Passport Arrived

My passport arrived on Thursday for myself and my 3 children. I went through NY and had a couple of meetings and a few items to amend but in the end it worked out. Overall it took about 1 1/2 years to complete but when the mail came with the passports I knew it was all worth it.

Email notification

I received an email today in Italian from the NY Consulate. I read it and had someone translate it and it appears to say that all my paperwork was sent to my commune and I can apply for a passport. Has anyone else been notified in this manner? I hope I have made it but I'm not sure.

I down loaded the forms off the web site today, I had thought these were filled out at the consulate. Do they all need appostiles?

Re: Appointment yesterday in Boston... Success??? I think so...

I am wondering when this form comes into play "Declaration of Living Ascendant (No Apostille, but requires one, fixed and returned to the consulate)" which I noticed on your post. I am going to NY for my second meeting in a week.

Hi mtedaldi,

Thanks for the suggestion and I will try to call on Monday. Did you call to set up a second meeting with Mr. DeFrancesco if so how long do you have to wait to go back?

Re: NY consulate second meeting

He didn't accept my application, he wanted me to clear something up with my GF middle name. He told me if I got it cleared up I could go back if it was within 90 days and to set the second meeting up by email. So far nobody has responded to the email.

I had my first meeting and had to get additional information. I am ready to go back in but I have not been able to get response to the email address that I was given at the first meeting. I tried to call today and that didn't work either, does anyone have a suggestions for me?

Re: New York consulate

I was thinking about a confirmation certificate as well. I think his marraige certificate also reads Joseph. So I would have two documents with Joseph and his birth with Lorenzo. Would they accept a notorized statement from children or his last surviving sibling? I'm not sure how I could get both do...

Re: New York consulate

I don't have anything that shows his middle name change. The petition shows first and last names only. His birth certificate show middle name as Lorenzo and his death certificate shows middle name as Joseph. Any ideas of where I might look for more information on this name change?

Re: Petition for Naturalization

First my grandfather's middle name is not mentioned on the petition, original was Lorenzo and became Joseph. does middle name become an issue? Re: NY Consulate Denial - Need Lawyer

Sorry to hear about your problems I am ready to go back in and I hope that I am not hit with something new. It seems as though they want to slow the amount of people down that are applying.

Re: New York consulate

I did receive the petition for naturalization from NARA it was very timely. The petition does state his first name as Franceso and when he was naturalized he became Frank, but it does not state his middle name as Lorenzo which later became Joseph. Does the middle name seem like an issue? Also my gra...
