Yes. You want your records linked to the correct Italian ancestors in the correct comune.

Re: Thank you, San Francisco... but...

CONGRATULATIONS! I recently (and stilll am) doing the same dance. Don't be afraid to contact the consulate and correct the comune as soon as possible! It may just be a typo on the letter but important to find-out and correct. :D :D :D

Re: "Pa" on census

Yes. My ancestor, according to census, naturalizes well after his birth and after the 1912 SF hurdle too. So, either way, I should qualify. The catch is I can't prove he naturalized, and the census is just enough disproof of the fact that he didn't. :? You will not be disqualified for a PA. A PA is...

Re: Applying in Italy for citizenship by descent

"In other words, you're not interested in the facts- preferring to repeat only your single case, which you mind-bogglingly presume must represent all the thousands of comuni in Italy." You are twisting words again so no use discussing "As for the previous thread, if you're not Someday...

Re: Applying in Italy for citizenship by descent

Zagnut: First mistake: I didn't make the post you refer too. And who is beating a dead horse? I only mentioned the most recent case that was reported as problematic. Can you refute that? In my opinion from what I have read on both expats and here it is not an easy event for many reasons expense and ...

Re: Applying in Italy for citizenship by descent

More misinformation from Someday/Esatto in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=3137&start=0&hilit=search+Circolare People are going over with no visa at all and applying for residenza with circolare 32 and no permesso di soggiorno. THIS IS NOT MY QUOTE!! Here's circolare 32 f...

Re: Applying in Italy for citizenship by descent

This is incorrect. A person requesting residency under circolare 32 does not have to leave Italy every 90 days while awaiting residency. Also, after applying for a permesso di soggiorno per attesa di cittadinanza, you are given a recipt which allows you to stay in Italy wothout leaving every 90 days...

Re: Applying in Italy for citizenship by descent

[quotThat does it. No way you are not Bill2 of http://expattalk.com/groupee/forumse]
Agreed. :D. One case does not prove anything, understood, but a few cases between 2006 and 2007 can not be a perfect indicator of what is current either. For someone living in Italy my opinion is to apply in...

Re: Question on 1948 Rule

Your friend would need to follow the grandfather. Grandfather - to mother - to friend born in 1951.
Grandmother born in 1902 cannot pass to mother born in 1925 because of 1948 rule.

Re: Applying in Italy for citizenship by descent
This would be like ignoring all the quick cases in the US and only focusing on the 2 and 3 year ones. Neither would be correct.zagnut

Only reporting on what I heard recently. It would be great to hear of a recent case in Italy that was quickly resolved. Do you know of any?

Re: Still Missing GGM and GGF Marriage Certificate

If you are near a Morman Church you can order birth records for many European cities on microfilm. I am not sure about what French records they have but it is worth a try. Death certificates would show, a census if you have one, or birth/baptismAL records of their other children would show them as m...
