Em, thanks for your very helpful comments. I think in the end the 3 years residency may be my only option for Italian cititzenship. Or could try Spanish citizenship through my grandparents?? I think I only need to reside in Spain for 1 year to achieve that. Anyhow, once again thanks for your comments.
