SF policy on anglicanized names?

My GGF was born Alessandro in Italy, but his US marriage, death, and G's b.c. all list him as Alexander. Anyone go through this in the San Francisco jurisdiction? Are they okay with it, or does it count as a discrepancy? I only have two years until my appointment people!! LOL!

You are only eligible for jure sanguinis if your parent was born before your grandfather became an American, otherwise he renounced citizenship and therefore couldn't pass it on.
