Re: Passport Success

They could have made a big stink about no Schengen entry stamp, but then again it's Italy....

Re: Passport Success

Can they really lobezno?...... ...... That said, he just shows his Italian passport when we get to the front of the non-EU passport holder line. There is no problem at all with us showing two different types of passports and feel this would also apply to you yjg - you could show your EU passports a...

Re: Passport Success

Yes, I would have to agree with ACTB on situations where you wouldn't use your EU passport. My family and I have discussed this. If we travel with my parents, who are not getting dual citizenship, there is no way we are going through the EU line and leaving our parents to go through the non-EU line...

Re: Passport Success

Are you a sock-puppet of AnotherCitizenToBe? You seem obsessed with the same issues (esoteric passport law workarounds)... Well, now that you have dragged my name into this mess, I am just going to have to say that I think you are little more than a pompous you-know-what. I am not obsessed with eso...

Re: Passport Success

What do they say, "ask a silly question, get a silly, or in this case, sarcastic, answer"... You're quite the arse...just the same as every other forum wanker who needs to stroke his own ego to prove a point. What's your problem? You could have easily phrased your original response in a m...

Re: Passport Success

What do they say, "ask a silly question, get a silly, or in this case, sarcastic, answer"... Um, if you want to ask a different question: What if I have different names on my passports, will they be able to tell that I'm a US citizen then? The answer is probably no. To answer the second pa...

Re: Passport Success

Also, how would the immigration officials know someone is a US citizen if they were not born in the US (For example, a Canadian-American with an American mother who was born in Canada using a Canadian or Italian passport). Just curious... There are these things.... they are called computers. When t...

Re: Trying to do this on the fast track

All of this just reinforces the importance of getting your info directly from your consulate. I completely disagree with this. Such a recommendation would do gpuzzi almost no good, he would be stopped in his tracks on the first call (if he actually spoke to someone) and give up. Your advice in this...

Re: "Pa" on census

Not yet. The problem is I can't risk losing my paperwork. If I have my appointment at the less favorable consulate and give them my paperwork, I can never get it back. $2000, plus hours and hours of work, gone. So, I need to choose wisely. Whaaa! Look, just cause you're a little paranoid, that's no...

And, your point is?

There is no rhyme or reason. It is "do as they say", and that only goes for that person, on that day. Tomorrow, it may change....

Re: Trying to do this on the fast track

Why Detroit? Becuase it is the only consulate jurisdiction in the US where: A. They do not send extrajudicial documents (like a NY birth certificate) to the "home consulate" (ex. NY) for confirmation before accepting it. and B. They do not wait for the ancestral commune to record your inf...

Re: Applying in Italy

Link to expatsinitaly.com thread regarding applying in Italy...

http://expattalk.com/groupee/forums/a/tpc/f/2620055123/m/9420026724

Can be done, may be faster, will probably have to change type of PdiS from study to "attesa di cittadinanza".

Read the thread....

Re: AIRE - moving from one jurisdiction to another (PHL to SF)

I actually did receive a letter directly from my comune, Palermo, notifying me that I had been inscribed in the AIRE.

I guess some comuni do and some don't (send letters)...
