Hello,
My husband is trying to get his Italian citizenship through his mother. His mother was born in Italy and moved to Canada with her family around 1950-1955 and she was about 5yrs old. She is a Canadian citizen and doesn't remember how this came about, we're all assuming this happened when her parents naturalized. Would this be accurate ? Would Canada naturalize the whole family at the same time ? I'm unsure how that process works. If so would my husband still be able to get his dual citizenship because his grandparents natualized after his mother was born ?

thanks !
Belinda

If her parents naturalized when she was a minor she was also naturalized. Your husband would not be eligible or dual citizenship unless he was born to his mother before she was naturalized.
