Wow. Its finally done.. I just picked up my passport from the Boston Consulate.
What a great feeling. I cant stop looking at it. Good Luck to all those
starting the process and going thru it. Its a lot of work, but well worth it in the end.

I went and picked it up. I live in Boston so it was very easy. I am sure they
could mail it also if I wanted.

Personally I don't trust the US Mail, so I would do the same, go in and pick it up.

im just trying to see what steps i can skip so i can wait out this process in italy...and at worst case scenerio just fly back when it comes in...complete the paperwork for the passport...wait 3 weeks for it to come and fly back...im getting impatient...i want to be there now...waiting another four months from now seems like forever!

Once your stuff is registered in the comune you don't need to come back to get your passport, you can get it right in Italy.

Out of curiosity, how long was it from the time you applied for the passport until you could pick it up in Boston?

Yes, I too would like to know how long it took for you to get your passport, as I just found out last week that I was accepted as a citizen, and am working with the Boston Consulate.
Thanks! :)
