Determine if an ancestor was ever naturalized and, if so, discuss your consulate's requirements for proving this.

I'm waiting too. Have you ever received them?

I also have a copy of my great-grandfather's naturalization papers. Do I need some sort of certified copy from the federal government? Thanks.

I think you're ok if it's the original, but if it's a copy, they will want it certified.

I only have a copy. Would I request a certified copy from USCIS on form G-639? Thanks!

That's exactly the form you would use.
