hi everyone,
i am a canadian citizen born to parents of italian ancestry who became canadian citizens before i was born. as i understand it, i must reside in italy for 3 years to qualify to become an italian citizen. i am presently married though soon to be divorced. my wife has 2 children who i have not adopted though they are legally considered my step-children under ontario family law. they all hold canadian passports as well as colombian ones. they have no intention to displace themselves to italy and may in fact return to their native colombia when the divorce is finalized by the end of the year.
considering the above, what documents do I require to begin the process of acquiring my italian citizenship?
