Postby belmoro19 » Mon Nov 27, 2006 6:19 pm

i recently received a birth certificate from icgs.it is on legal paper as far as i can tell and stamped from the province.it does't look like an copy of the original.the information is handwritten and all it has is d.o.b and his name.there is no other informamation (i.e. parents name).my question is has anyone else recieved a certificate like this and will it be accepted by the consolates?

I’m not sure about other consulates; however, I know for a fact that Los Angeles requires that the names of the parents be listed. You may have to re-contact the comune in Italy, or the service you used should do it for you at no additional cost, and request that the certificates include the parental information as well.

Before you do that, however, I would check with the consulate you are applying through to see if they require it. Good luck.

Best,
Giuseppe
