Passport - Consulate

Postby vlsb35 » Tue Dec 26, 2006 1:53 pm

Does anyone know if you have to give the Consulate your passport when you present your papers for Dual Citizenship? I know they want originals of the documents but I was wondering if a colored copy of the passport will suffice? I need to my passport for business travels so I cannot really give them the original. Does anyone know?
Thank you,
V

If you mean your U.S. passport, the answer is "no." They don't even ask for it if you have another photo ID. If they do ask for it, a copy is fine.
