Applying in Madrid

Postby genom » Sun Oct 18, 2009 10:44 pm

I am originally from Southern California, but will be moving to Madrid in 2 months for a 6 month internship. I am eligible for Italian citizenship through my grandfather and plan on taking all of the necessary documents with me to Madrid. I am planning on going to Madrid without a student visa and am hoping to gain Italian citizenship during my 6 month stay in Madrid. Will I need a student Visa with me in Madrid for this process, or is it unnecessary? Also, does anyone have experience dealing with the Italian embassy in Madrid, or anywhere else in Spain? Thanks for any information.

You will need to be a legal resident in the consulate or embassy's service area. What will you provide to the Italian embassy in Madrid to prove that you are a resident of Spain?
