Chicago Recent Experience/Advice?

Postby JMai » Thu Jan 07, 2010 2:38 am

Hello, Most of the posts on applying through Chicago are several years old. Does anyone have any recent experiences or advice they can share? I have just started this process and need to gather the necessary documents. How long has it taken for people to set up appointments? Also, I am confused as to what documents need Italian translation via the rules on the Chicago website. I am applying through my paternal great grandfather.

Kind regards
JMai

I'd call the consulate and ask how soon they can get you in. I used a service that is in Illinois. Waiting on USCIS data takes a few months. They procured the immigration documents and birth certificate from italy for my grandfather. In detroit, All birth, marriage, and death records needed to be translated.
