registering births of adult children in Chicago?

Postby puck » Wed Feb 10, 2010 12:36 am

I was wondering if anyone is familiar with the policies of the Chicago consulate on registering the births of adult children of Italian citizens. My mom recently completed the process of getting her citizenship via jure sanguinis through Chicago, and is now looking at how to best get my younger brothers and I, all over 18, citizenship. I know that at some locations (NY, LA) Italian citizens can simply register their adult childrens' births with the stato civile. Does Chicago allow this approach? Has anyone had experience with this recently? Can the documents be mailed in, or will she need to appear in person?
