nyc appointment backlog

For NYC applicants: I was to have an appointment on December 4th to turn in my documents but unfortunately can not make it. I called today to reschedule and was told that there is now a backlog and will have to wait until April to get in!

Four months is not too long a wait. Just ask those applying through other consulates.

BTW, if some of your documents have already been submitted, and you have completed the application form, you can simply mail the rest to them (certified, return receipt requested of course).

The next appointment available in San Francisco is in August 2007! I'd say you got off pretty easy

I was at the conulate in NYC in early november 2006. I had a couple of problems with my paperwork and needed to make another appointment. She told me to call in the next day and even then my appointment is for march 12th. 3-4 months...I'll deal with it.

Anyway, when I was there, they were pleasant people to work with. Very helpful.
