Declaring Nationality on Resume

Postby piccola_pampina » Tue Jun 02, 2009 8:52 pm

Question concerning resume --

Now this is a little far in the future for me, but perhaps others are wondering the same. When applying for a job, if you're typing up a CV, what would a person of dual citizenship claim as their nationality? We are/will be official citizens of both countries. From what is said, we are citizens from birth. Would an employer look negatively upon seeing dual citizenship written down, or could it be a positive? I've read on here that dual citizenship can cause security problems. Any ideas?!

I would think it would be a positive in Italy, but I dunno!

It really depends on the employer. Large private sector multinational corporations generally value it, some quite highly. The "Society to Promote Eritrean Recovery from Italian Imperialism": not so much. :-)

(No, there's no such thing as the Society to Promote Eritrean Recovery from Italian Imperialism. As far as I know.)
