Miami Consulate -- Fingerprints

Postby JMMalley » Tue Jul 13, 2010 9:06 am

Greetings!

This is a follow-up to an earlier post re: the Italian passport application at the Miami Consulate. The consulate website states that you must apply to the consulate in person to apply for a passport, but it's not clear about fingerprinting. Anyone know whether they do the fingerprinting at the consulate? Thanks.

I picked up my passport in NY on June 4th. They did the fingerprinting at the consulate. The fingerprinting consisted of the index fingers of each hand. On the bright side everyone left with their passport.

It is safe to assume that fingerprinting has come to Miami as well.

You have to travel to Miami. They process and take your prints there. You do not need to bring anything but yourself, the money, two photos, and "the letter."
