Scheduling your consulate meeting

Postby ItalyBound » Mon Jan 31, 2011 2:36 am

Hello all:
New to the forum. Just found it today and have found it remarkable. I am starting the process for dual Italian citizenship and have started the document requests. I will be applying through Miami, as I am a Florida resident. Reading many of the posts, I see that the meeting request is done through a company called Albans. On their site they state that the scheduling of meeting times is now over 1 year. First question, is this the case. Second question, if so would it be prudent to request my meeting time now even though I am securing the documents. I would expect to have all documents in order within an easy 5-6 months. If I wait to get everything, I can only imagine it getting delayed another 6 months. Any thoughts, experiences would be appreciated.

Definitely schedule now. You'll be waiting a while.

Thanks for the quick response EM. I thought that would be the way to go. Is it true that ALBANS is the only way to schedule the consulate meeting at the Miami consulate or is there another way?

Well it's official. Scheduled the consulate meeting this afternoon.
Used abtran and spoke with a Joseph. To bad it was not 4 days earlier.
What a nice treat that would have been for my birthday.
About 4 minutes at the #900 rate. About $10. Not to bad.

"You have successfully scheduled an appointment at the Italian
Consulate, Miami (Citizenship) on Wednesday, June 06, 2012 beginning
at 11:00 AM. The Consulate General is located at 4000 Ponce de Leon,
Suite 590, Coral Gables, FL 33146."

How's that for a time frame. 17 months. Well it gives me plenty of time to get it altogether.

Works also for my time frame, albeit nothing goes wrong!

So now the work begins.

I just scheduled mine in Miami. It's set for August 2013. Ouch!

I need to call for my brother and uncle who both live in Phili and NYC.

Any idea on the wait times in NYC and Philadelphia?
