Your personal information allows ICGS to send you information about the status of your requests and to mail you certificates from Italy. It is not used beyond the scope of these communications. We respect your privacy and will not release this information to third parties under any circumstances.
ICGS is a privately owned company, unaffiliated with any Italian authority, embassy or consulate. Use of its services does not guarantee that a certificate will be found, nor does it guarantee your eligibility for Italian citizenship. If you are not a citizen of Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, the U.K or the U.S., ICGS strongly recommends you contact the nearest Italian authority to be sure that acquiring Italian citizenship will not affect the citizenship you currently hold.
The response time varies from city to city (over 8,000 in Italy), but in most cases, we receive requested certificates within 6-8 weeks.
If there is no reply from Italy within 16 weeks, and you would like us to resubmit your request, you will need to place a new order.
We contact the Italian officials and submit the information you have provided us. We do not produce the certificates. If there are mistakes in the information you send, the registrar's search will most likely be unsuccessful. In rare cases, certificates have been lost or destroyed during war, fires or floods and do not exist to be found even with correct information.
In most cities and towns in Italy, the Vital Records Office is very helpful, and we receive polite responses in a timely manner. In rare cases, the Italian officials can be EXTREMELY slow in responding to our requests. Unfortunately, if they do not answer our letters, phone calls, faxes or emails, the only recourse is to travel to the city or town in question.
When we receive your request, we proceed in good faith and follow a tested and proven series of steps to locate and retrieve your certificate. Along the way, we expend both time and money on your behalf. We do understand that customers can make mistakes, or may change their minds, so for orders less than 1 week old, cancellations will result in a full refund of your deposit. After 30 days, however, your deposit will become NON-REFUNDABLE.
